Video Forecast: Mild Days Continue + TS Dora Impact on California?

We’re seeing a fairly healthy marine layer near 2,000 feet pushed inland daily by a moderate sea breeze = a fairly comfortable blend of Summer microclimates around the Bay Area to wrap up the weekend. We may see the sea breeze turn briefly stronger that may lead to a little more cooling and some extra drizzle/mist over the next few nights/mornings. Later in the week its looking like high pressure is strengthening again which should lead to a return of 80s and 90s inland. Tropical Storm Dora update: Dora will rapidly weaken as the storm moves parallel to the Baja California coastline. Cooler sea surface temps and increasing wind shear will end Dora’s tropical storm strength however moisture from the remnant low may drift over the Central Sierra and Southern California early in the week – an item that needs to be watched for fire danger concerns related to lightning sparked fires. Right now its looking like most of the moisture stream inland over Arizona instead but bears watching. Enjoy your weekend! – Rob Mayeda
