Video Forecast: Misty and Mild Start to the Week

A deepening marine layer will likely mean some lowering temperatures inland at least to start the work week. Highs will remain below late July averages with mainly 70s and 80s inland and cool 60s around the coast and peninsula. High pressure should begin building in for the second half of the week leading to a warm up that should see 90s returning inland to wrap up the work week and heading into next week. Some indications are a strong ridge of high pressure may expand over the Bay Area by Aug 2nd which could lead to some pretty toasty temperatures for us, something that bears watching in the 7-10 day forecast, but for now its the ocean air-conditioning that reigns supreme. Tropical Storm Dora will likely fizzle out into a remnant low later today. Upper level winds may steer a little of the mid-level moisture from this system across Southern California and Southern Sierra but not close enough to the Bay Area to warrant any real fire danger concerns for lightning strikes, etc. – Rob Mayeda
