Videocast: Brief Break Before More Rain, Wind

We wrapped up the weekend with some pretty impressive rain totals ranging from near .75 in San Jose to 1.00-1.50 from Palo Alto north to San Francisco and Oakland. North Bay locations reached 1-2 inches of rain and coincidentally will see the biggest punch from our next weather system arriving later on Tuesday. Monday we’ll see variable clouds and still some lift and instability near the North Bay hills to possibly fire up an isolated shower, otherwise most of Monday should be dry, trending progressively breezy and wetter for the North Bay by Tuesday morning. Plan on more rain at times for Tuesday into Wednesday before rain changes to showers by Wednesday afternoon. Thursday and Friday don’t look too bad at all as the jet stream temporarily heads into the Pacific Northwest and high pressure builds in enough to give us some mostly 60 degree days (maybe near 70 in the South Bay on Friday). The weekend however is looking like more rain again, higher total again in the North Bay with showers to follow into Sunday. Long range models have been hinting at a return of a stronger west coast ridge of high pressure starting around 4/2 – one can hope. Baseball season is nearly here and it would be nice to not have to worry about rain drops for upcoming home games.Enjoy your week! – Rob Mayeda
