Videocast: Cooler with Isolated Showers

Overnight light rain has moved on with much cooler air now settling into the Bay Area. Highs will be mainly in the mid 50s to near 60 for most places today even with Spring sunshine. Some moisture will move ashore later in the day that may help trigger an isolated shower or two especially near the North Bay and East Bay hills. Given the colder airmass in place, moisture will be somewhat limited so we’re not expecting anything widespread over the next 2-3 days. Frost Advisories Tonight – We’ll be seeing temperatures dip at least into the lower 30s around parts of the North Bay and Salinas valleys, good enough to warrant a frost advisory for these locations. Early April frost/freezes are not unheard of, but some temperature sensitive plants may need some protecting tonight – as well of course your pets, bring them indoors! We should manage a brief warm up into the weekend but we may have to watch a troublesome stalling weather system expected to form offshore into the weekend. Some computer models are placing it close enough to the Bay Area that by Sunday we may begin seeing some showers developing especially in the North Bay – so stay tuned. Enjoy your Wednesday! – Rob Mayeda
