Videocast: Mild Friday, Weekend Changes

Its looking like we’ll squeeze in one more warm day inland for our East Bay and South Bay valleys as a sea breeze begins to pick up late in the day Friday. We should see a similar trend to Thursday’s temps with the morning starting off in winter coat and jacket-mode 30s/40s with temps climbing into the 60s near the coast and peninsula and 70s across the bay. The catch for coastal and peninsula temperatures will be the sea breeze slowly turning on through the day, likely to spill some low clouds towards the coastline and bring temperatures downward evening.Inland however some 70s will be possible especially inland East Bay and Tri Valley locations as well as some areas south of San Jose. There is a slight chance for a few light showers on Saturday as a weak system brushes by. Best chances for showers will be near the North Bay and coastline. Plan on some rain dropping in later on Sunday. Highs this weekend will go from the upper 50s to mid 60s on Saturday to the mid 50s to low 60s by Sunday. While you may not see too much rain until later in the weekend, there is simply one thing you cannot miss this weekend. Loss of sleep. That’s right, its Spring Forward Sunday coming up for this weekend which means setting clocks forward one hour Saturday night. This means we of course, lose an hour of sleep. It also changes up the sunrise and sunset times that will take some getting used to on your morning/evening commutes. The ‘new’ sunrise will be around 7:25 am in the morning and new sunset time will be around 7:15 pm.Enjoy your Friday – do soak in the sunshine will you can, its looking pretty rainy for next week! – Rob Mayeda
