Videocast: Monday Morning Showers

Its looking like some showers will be lingering into the morning commute as an upper low spins just to our south over Southern California, yet close enough to toss some moisture our way through the first half of the day.Plan on decreasing showers later in the afternoon with partly cloudy skies for most by evening after a cool day and highs in the low to mid 50s. Dry weather should resume for Tuesday and Wednesday before our next chance for some rain arrives Thursday. Most of the computer models are suggesting this system will weaken and possibly split as it arrives in Northern California that will not only limit rain totals around the Bay Area but also not bring too much snow to the Sierra. By Thursday night and Friday this system will spin down into the Desert Southwest with high pressure building in behind it, possibly throttling up winds into the gusty range around the Bay Area, something to watch for late this week. Next weekend for now is looking dry as high pressure deflects incoming systems just to our north. There may be another cut-off low that tries to drop down the coast late on Sunday, but the trend in the computer runs has been to keep things mainly dry from late this week and well into the following week as well. Enjoy your Monday! – Rob Mayeda
