Videocast: the Next Storm

The final storm of the series arrives today with areas of rain and increasing southerly winds to the evening. Its still looking like periods of off/on rain for the 49ers game along with gusty conditions at times especially by the evening.Rain will turn heavy overnight as a surface low tracks near the Bay Area which will also help throttle up the winds into the 20-40 mph range for the coastal hills and south coastal valleys extending from the peninsula southward to Salinas/Monterey. Winds should begin easing by mid morning Monday as the rain also begins to wind down from north to south by lunchtime. Some clearing is expected for Monday with high pressure returning to create a dry forecast ahead for the rest of the work week. Given our widespread recent rain this will add more low level moisture to help fog to form overnight – something to be watched in our North and East Bay valleys around midweek. Areas managing to lose the fog quickly in the morning or are fog free could see their temps climb into the mid 60s. A weather system brushing by on Tuesday will likely stay too far north of the Bay Area to present any rain chances though we may see a few more clouds at times from it with showers staying north of Sonoma County.Next chance for rain appears to possibly arrive by the end of next weekend. Enjoy your Sunday despite the breezy and off/on rainy conditions and Go 49ers! – Rob Mayeda
