Videocast: Patchy Morning Fog and Frost

The weekend is looking dry as high pressure anchored to our west deflects incoming storms well north of us, meantime light offshore winds near ground-level will bring in some fog from the Central Valley leading to some cooling for our inland East and North Bay valleys. Expect a range of mid 50s in these locations with some 60s possible near the higher elevations of the North and South Bay. Our dry December has about two more weeks to go and our monthly rainfall totals vs. average for the entire month are looking very underwhelming. I’ll share a graphic with you in this forecast that I think spells it out pretty well, of course we still have two more weeks to go so there’s still hope for some recovery toward the end of the month if we can see high pressure relenting and allowing some storms our way. For the next 7 days though it doesn’t appear very likely. No major changes in our pattern is expected for the rest of the weekend with a cut-off low tossing showers well south of us in Southern California, we’ll likely see another one form south of Santa Barbara early next week, but any showers should stay well south of us. Enjoy your Saturday! – Rob Mayeda
