Videocast: Windy, With Some Rain Later

Gusty conditions can be expected overnight as winds increase ahead of a frontal boundary approaching the coast. With upper level winds running nearly parallel to the surface boundary, any movement to the east is slow at best and will likely take awhile to move inland. The computer models hint at another system sweeping in from the northwest that should help nudge the boundary further inland during the day Tuesday. That said, highest rain totals will likely remain along the coastal range. Showers and cooler air aloft will begin moving through on Tuesday night into Wednesday which may help destabilize things enough to warrant isolated thunder at times. Its looking like we’ll see a brief break in showers early Thursday before a quick moving system drops in for the afternoon and evening. Showers and much cooler conditions will follow into Friday before things begin drying out and warming up for the weekend.
