Wet & Windy At Times

The rain has arrived and look for increasing southerly winds later in the day. Look for some pretty chilly temps through the early part of the day and trending a bit warmer by the evening as southerly winds bring in more mild air into the night time hours. For the weekend its now looking like more of the heavier rain will focus on areas around Santa Cruz southward – more into Central and Southern California. We’ll still see our fair share of rain and gusty winds at times – but the highest rainfall totals will likely be in the 3″-5″ range for the coastal mountains – highest for areas in the Santa Cruz and Santa Lucia mountains. As the ground gets more saturated, it won’t take much to cause localized flooding issues by early next week. We’ll see off/on rain mixed with sun from the weekend into Monday. Its now starting to look like Tuesday is the day when we’ll see the greatest amount of moisture aimed in on us – a timeframe that may include another 3″-6″ of rain for the local mountains with another 2″-4″ of rain for Wednesday before the moisture heads east. As of now its looking like next Thursday into Christmas Eve we should be trending drier with most of our rain chances moving into the North Bay and further northward.
