Why So Soggy? – May/June Outlook with Rob Mayeda

From NBC Bay Area’s Rob Mayeda: The extended range forecast shows below average temperatures and some unusually high chances for showers for this time of year continuing through May. The culprit is the polar jet stream that traditionally aims in more towards the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia in late May in June. But not so much this year… we’ve seen a fairly persistent trough pattern off our coast, keeping both our temperatures mild and tossing chances for some rain off/on our way. Warmer weather does appear in the cards around the 27th-30th, but another fairly deep trough approaching the coast to start June may reverse that warming trend and possibly toss more rain our way to kick off June.
