Caltech Scientists Make Massive Planetary Discovery

Scientists at Caltech in Pasadena have counted some 100 billion planets in our galaxy the Milky Way alone, and there may be as many as 300 billion planets in our galaxy, one of about 100 billion galaxies in the universe. Cal Tech s John Johnson says the discovery “shocked” the scientists as the massive finding settled in on “a human level.” Chuck Henry reports for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m. on Jan. 3, 2013.
