Caught on Camera: Robber With Knife Takes Liquor Store Customer's Beer

The robber threatened customers and knocked over a countertop display at the Orange County store

A robber with a knife swiped a customer’s beer off the counter at a liquor store.

A knife-wielding man robbed an Orange County liquor store, swiped a customer's beer off the counter and knocked over a display Tuesday night in a heist caught on surveillance video, authorities said.

The robbery occurred around 11:30 p.m. at La Pico Liquor Mart in the 10400 block of Beach Boulevard in the city of Stanton. The robber wearing a sweatshirt with an Oakland Raiders logo pulled the knife on the store clerk and demanded the clerk take money out of the register.

"He said, ‘Give me the money, give me the money! I need the money,'"' witness Cruz Bracamontes said. 

Bracamontes said that the robber tried to stab him with the knife and that the man also stole his beer, a bottle that he had placed on the counter.

The man left in an sport utility vehicle, according to witnesses.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is analyzing surveillance video of the crime.
