Jailhouse Visitor Demands Own Arrest

Drunk man had come to visit his incarcerated girlfriend, police said

A Florida man’s jailhouse visit ended with his own arrest when he refused to leave the big house.

Police said the man had shown up drunk at the Okaloosa County Jail to visit with his girlfriend, the Northwest Florida Daily News reported.

A jail employee asked the man to leave, but he refused.

When an Okaloosa County Sheriff's deputy was called over to intervene the man reportedly argued that he wouldn’t budge because he had made a 45-mile trek from Fort Walton Beach to the Crestview facility to visit his girlfriend.

"The defendant refused my commands and told me that I was going to have to arrest him," the deputy wrote in an arrest report, according to the Daily News.

The unnamed man was arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespassing.
