Ray-Ban to Lessen Google Glass Dork Factor

Google announced it was pairing with eyewear maker Luxottica --  the parent company of Ray-Ban, Oakley, Oliver Peeples and more --  to make Google Glass a little less dorky.

Google tried to make Glass a little better by offering 40 different styles, including a Titanium Collection, but the fashionistas need more, according to Google Glass on Google+. So now, Luxottica will create more consumer- and fashion-friendly versions as well as sell and distribute the devices. Although Google didn't say when the glasses would be available for purchase, it did say that it "marks the start of a new chapter in Glass's design."

The computer headgear that looks like eyeglasses has been dubbed "too geeky" for normal people, AppleInsider reported. It also noted that wearing Glass made others uncomfortable, and that's likely due to the belief that Glass users could be filming them without their knowledge, a Google Glass don't
 
At this point, making Google Glass less obtrusive is probably a smart bet for Google.
