Reality Check: Obama's Calls for Gun Reform, Minimum Wage Hike

President Obama’s State of the Union address began as a nuts and bolts look at how he’d like to advance his agenda on deficit reduction, job growth and immigration reform, but crescendoed with an impassioned plea for gun reform. The facts show that President Obama isn’t far off base when he says an “overwhelming majorities of Americans” support certain gun reform measures, but his assertion that raising the federal minimum wage will help millions of people in poverty stands on much shakier ground.
