Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame Inductees Gear Up for Dedication

One of the key designers of the San Francisco 49ers dynasty and a legendary beach volleyball player will be among those inducted to the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame Monday night. Carmen Policy was president of the 49ers during the team’s glory years of the 1980s and 1990s. Kerri Walsh Jennings attended Stanford before winning three gold medals and a bronze in the Olympics. Other inductees include former Giants star slugger Matt Williams, USF and NBA basketball star Bill Cartwright, and North America’s winningest jockey Russell Baze, who did most of his riding at Bay Meadows and Golden Gate Fields.
