Kings' Buddy Hield Pokes Fun at Age Controversy With Playful Tweet

The rest of the world found out Buddy Hield's real age, but that doesn't mean he couldn't laugh about the situation.

Memphis Grizzlies digital content reporter Alexis Morgan joked that she was also 25, and the Kings guard took notice.

Based on what he told NBC Sports California's James Ham, it's easy to see why Hield is able to laugh off any age jokes. Hield maintained that he was forthright about his age with anyone who asked.

"That's their fault, not my fault," Hield said when asked why his age was listed as 25 on the NBA's website, and other outlets. "The first time I saw it on Wikipedia, my mom said, ‘Why do they have your age wrong?' I said, ‘I have no idea.' "

The Kings confirmed they were also aware Hield was born in 1992, not 1993. Hield said he gave the team's brain trust his passport, and "[that's] the only thing that matters."

Hield and the Kings will take the court next on Friday, when they host the Grizzlies at Golden 1 Center. He will be four days removed from his 26th birthday -- not his 25th birthday.
