Watch Giants Top Prospect Joey Bart Launch First Home Run in Double-A

Well, that didn't take long.

Less than a week after being promoted from the Single-A affiliate, Giants' top prospect Joey Bart made some noise. He hit his first home run with the Richmond Fighting Squirrels (Giants' Double-A affiliate) on Tuesday:

The catcher appeared to be rather relaxed at the plate as he hit the solo shot during the first game of a doubleheader against the Bowie Baysox.

Bart, along with the organization's No. 2 prospect Heliot Ramos and No. 6 prospect Sean Hjelle were promoted from San Jose on Thursday after putting up impressive numbers.

During his Single-A stint, Bart slashed .265/..315/.479 with 12 home runs in 57 games.

Bart has been progressing this season defensively, and despite Giants' president baseball of operations Farhan Zaidi wanting him to consider handling a different position, having him offensively in the lineup could create a huge plus in hitting production. But sitting Buster Posey seems like a silly thing to do.

Zaidi has some decisions to make, but we at least get to witness Bart's greatness until then.
