11-Year-Old Girl Leads Police on Car Chase

A woman fearing her child had been kidnapped received a different shock. She found out the girl had actually stolen a car before crashing. Police received a call early Monday morning from a woman saying her 11-year-old daughter had borrowed the keys to her SUV to get a school book out of the car, but didn’t return. The mother also reported the car missing. Police spotted the car at a nearby intersection, with the preteen behind the wheel refusing to stop. A nearby witness described the police chase, which lasted more than 10 miles. The chase came to an end when the girl crashed into another vehicle. She was taken to the hospital as a precaution and will be charged with aggravated fleeing of police and driving without a license.
