Bay Area Bike Sharing Funding Vote

Up and coming Bay Area bike shares may have a new ticket to ride thanks to a possible new funding program. Bay Area transit leaders on Wednesday will vote on allocating funding to Richmond, Fremont and train stops along the SMART corridor in Marin and Sonoma counties. That money would help expand bike share programs in smaller cities which have not benefited from the privately funded operations now prospering in larger cities. If the plan is approved, funding would amount to roughly $2 million.
