Children Disrupt British Politician's Campaign Event

There’s a saying among actors about the risks of working with children or animals – a saying that a British politician learned first-hand Wednesday. Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron held a campaign event in London that featured a mock debate among children. One talked about a party platform banning homework and another discussed keeping Britain in the European union. The event was going well until three boys started hitting each other with their balloons and others jumped on the bandwagon. Farron tried to use the disruption to his advantage – referring to his party’s opposition to Brexit – but was unable to stop the melee. The Liberal Democrat party is trailing significantly behind Prime Minister Theresa May’s conservatives and the opposition Labor Party.
