Class Action: Report Faults Some Charter Schools for Requiring Volunteering

Hilary Hammell, a lawyer with the San Francisco civil rights group Public Advocates, talks to NBC Bay Area’s Jessica Aguirre about her recent report on charter school requirements for parent volunteering. Hammell says more than 100 charter schools in California require parents to donate volunteer hours, a practice she says is illegal under California law.
