Classroom Robot Helps Students Interact with Classmates and Teachers

A Virginia high school is testing technology that allows sick students to interact with their classmates and teachers without actually being in school using a double robot technology. Ryan controls his robot self through an app from home. Two cameras allow him to see all around. Ryan can raise his *virtual* hand to participate in class and even catch up with friends in the hallway. The school system sees this technology as a way to make sure students temporarily living abroad or homebound by medical conditions aren’t falling behind in class. Ryan is keeping up with his classwork…while leading the way to the future of learning. The robot runs about $3,500.
