Climate Strike: Bay Area Activists Join Global Effort

Joining forces with people across the world, thousands of Bay Area students and others took to the streets Friday for a global climate strike aimed at raising awareness about climate change and to put pressure on leaders ahead of next week’s U.N. Climate Action Summit. The youth-led march was inspired by Swedish 16-year-old Greta Thunberg, who single-handedly protested outside of parliament, demanding that lawmakers in her country treat climate change as a top priority.
