Clown Convention Kicks Off in Mexico

Mexican clowns, at their annual convention, have condemned the recent rash of creepy clown sightings. The Mexican clowns were reacting to hysteria getting so much attention in the United States, Canada, Europe and lately Mexico. Hundreds of clowns gathered in Mexico City and marched merrily through the streets. They chanted: “we are clowns, we are not murderers,” as they paraded and along the way. They juggled, rode unicycles and gave away balloons to spectators. Clowns threatening residents have been spotted in several Mexican cities recently. The clowns were in Mexico City for the 21st annual international clown convention, aimed at honing their craft and supporting the industry. Clowns are very important to Mexican culture and life. According to the Latin-American clown association, There are some ten-thousand professional clowns registered in Mexico. The convention brings together clowns from countries such as Peru, Nicaragua, and the United States.
