‘Art of the Brick:' Artist Creates DC Comic Heroes From Legos

A former corporate lawyer in New York City has an art exhibit touring the world that uses Lego bricks to create sculptures of comic superheroes. The exhibit called “The Art of the Brick DC Super Heroes” is now in Madrid, Spain. It includes more than 120 original works created exclusively from Lego bricks and depicts stories and characters from DC Comics. Artist Nathan Sawaya says he has been creating Lego sculptures since 2002. This new exhibition brings to life many of DC Comics’ best-known heroes, book covers, and even a full-size Batmobile made from half a million standard Lego bricks. Through the building blocks, the artist says his work has inspired countless children to discover the artist within themselves.
