Dublin Trail Bridge Receives Preliminary Approval
Bicyclists and walkers may soon have safer and easier access over a busy East Bay corridor. Dublin City Council members have given preliminary approval for a new steel truss bridge over Dublin Boulevard for people using the Iron Horse Trail. People can use the trail to get to the nearby Dublin-Pleasanton BART station. Right now, cyclists have to leave the trail and cross the busy six-lane boulevard, which many say can be dangerous. The bridge is expected to cost around $7 million. Funding could come from a measure voters approved two years ago.
