Fight Brews as Google Mulls Expansion

Google is looking to expand near its headquarters in Mountain View, but the tech giant is changing plans and that seems to be causing some friction with city leaders. The Mercury News reported in June that Google and the city agreed to build office space and nearly a thousand units of housing. This would be in the North Bay Shore area of Mountain View. But Google says in order to build all those homes, the company needs to build more office space. Google claims new homes would require the company to tear down existing office space. City officials are concerned about that. The plan is up for a vote in November.
