Giant Eel Captured in Central Japan

An eel is the talk of a Japanese town and is attracting visitors and TV coverage. The animal is 3 feet long, weighs nearly 9 pounds and is almost 8 inches wide. A 70-year-old man in Mihama caught the eel last week in a cage set up in a river near his home. He said he was really surprised because he didn’t expect to catch an eel of such an enormous size.
