How Are Alert Systems Being Used Across Bay Area?

Following our reports last week asking why Sonoma County didn’t activate its mass cell phone alert system, both of California’s senators sent a scathing letter to the feds. They say the FCC needs to make it possible for the mass alert to reach specific groups of people during a disaster. NBC Bay Area’s Senior Investigative Reporter Vicky Nguyen has been digging into the issue and has a look at how alert systems are being used across the Bay Area.
