Landlords Frequently Ignore Oakland Eviction Laws

A lack of oversight and enforcement in Oakland is allowing landlords to frequently evade tenant protection laws, leaving renters vulnerable to fraud. More than two years after Oakland enacted tough housing regulations to combat wrongful evictions, roughly three out of four landlords appear to be violating those very laws, according to an analysis by the NBC Bay Area Investigative Unit.
