Man in Iowa Risks Life Saving Deer From Swollen River

An Iowa man risked his life to save a deer from a swollen river. People who were standing on a bridge near the river bank were shocked to see a deer jump into the river. Heavy rains caused the river to swell, and the small deer was no match for the powerful current. Eventually the deer got stuck near another bridge. The deer was struggling and witnesses knew the small animal would eventually get tired and drown. So one man, with the help of some other people, tethered himself to a rail and got in the water with a life jacket. They hoisted the deer out of the water, then carefully took the deer to a truck. The men said they were going to take the deer to some nearby woods and set it free. A man who helped out said it was great to see the community come together to help save an animal. The man who jumped in the water did not want to be identified or interviewed. He was praised by everyone who witnessed his brave, heroic act.
