Mexico Chefs Make Record-Breaking 220-Foot Sandwich
Mexico on Wednesday broke its own record for the longest sandwich. Crowds gathered to watch as chefs crafted the 220-foot sandwich from thousands of pieces of bread, lettuce, onion, tomato and more than 60 other ingredients. They also used hundreds of quarts of mayonnaise, mustard and spicy sauces. According to organizers, the 73-yard-long sandwich is the longest sandwich ever prepared in Latin America. Local authorities in Mexico City and dozens of local businesses combined their efforts to make it happen. Mexico has set the record for fourteen years running.
