Most Congestion-Related Traffic Violations Are Uber, Lyft Drivers

The San Francisco Police Department argues that nearly two-thirds of congestion-related traffic violations come from Uber or Lyft drivers. At a hearing on Monday, supervisor Aaron Peskin called the number “basically unbelievable.” Violations include driving in transit-only lanes, obstructing traffic and making illegal U-turns. Other supervisors argue they’ve heard concerns about reckless driving by Uber and Lyft drivers. Lyft tells the San Francisco Examiner the company is committed to working with city leaders to cut congestion.
