Most Midsize Cars Score Well in New Passenger Side-Safety Crash Test

Results for a new type of crash test that weigh passenger-side safety for midsize cars have been released. The test looks at the results of direct impact when it’s on the front passenger side. Testers looked at 13 new midsize cars. Ten received good ratings. One was acceptable. Two earned marginal ratings. Researchers say the biggest problem was inconsistent airbag protection putting a passenger’s head at risk. The two cars that scored lowest were the Volkswagen Passat and Chevy Malibu.
