Permits at Dolores Park Spark Controversy

The popular Dolores Park, a jewel of open space in the middle of San Francisco, reopened earlier this year after a two-year, $20.5- million renovation. And this month, the city’s Recreation and Park Department renewed picnic application fees there, charging between $33 to $260 for groups with 25 people or more to reserve a spot of grass in the park to ensure a guaranteed spot.
