PG&E Says Cutting Power Before Wildfires is ‘Complicated'

Cal Fire blamed PG&E’s equipment for starting at least a dozen fires in six counties last fall. As fierce winds knocked down power lines, the company failed to shut off sections of its power grid. That stands in stark contrast to what San Diego Gas & Electric routinely does during extreme fire weather.
