Recall Effort Aimed at Santa Clara County Judge May Be Headed to an Election Day Showdown

On Wednesday, people pushing for the recall of Judge Aaron Persky turned in 95,000 signatures – far more than are needed to qualify for the June ballot. Their effort began after the Santa Clara County judge sentenced former Stanford University swimmer Brock Turner to just six months in jail for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman outside a campus party.
