Robin Williams Meadow Coming to Golden Gate Park

A popular destination in Golden gate Park will soon have a new name to honor a legendary Bay Area entertainer. The mayor’s office has approved renaming Sharon Meadow after Robin Williams. Williams was a longtime supporter of the city’s annual comedy day, which started in 1981. It’s held each year in Sharon Meadow. William Sharon was a Nevada senator who donated money for Golden Gate Park in the 1880s.
