San Jose's Camera 12 Closing For Good

A once popular movie theater in the south bay is closing it’s doors. “Camera 12” in San Jose is going out of business. The owners said after a decade of lost revenue, they just couldn’t keep “the cinemas” open. A trio of San Jose State self-professed “film geeks” opened their first movie-house, “Camera one” in 1975. In 2004, the team took-over the failed “united artists” theater, turning it into camera-12. This complicates things for San Jose’s “Cinequest Film Festival”, which begins in March, and is now scrambling to find substitute venues.
