Santa Clara County to Collect Food for Those in Need

A fleet of new food trucks will start appearing in Santa Clara County to collect and redistribute already prepared food from businesses and universities straight to communities in need. Not only is the county providing transportation but it’s also taking liability, clearing the way for businesses to participate. Each year more than 34 million pounds of food are thrown away in Santa Clara County. That’s more than enough food to feed 200,000 people in need. The new trucks will start rolling in spring.
