SJPD Fails to Produce Burglary Response Times

During the past decade burglaries rose by 50 percent in San Jose, but how long on average does it take police to respond to burglary 911 calls? The Investigative Unit found that the public won’t know because SJPD doesn’t track it, and obtaining the information would require computer programming and thousands of dollars. The department failed to provide response time. Meanwhile, other law enforcement agencies quickly provided response time data for analysis. Chief Investigative Reporter Tony Kovaleski reports in a story that aired on April 17, 2014.
