Woman, 50, is Pioneering Transsexual Basketball Player

College basketball is nothing new for Gabrielle Ludwig, who has played on both women’s and men’s teams. Ludwig, 50, is a transsexual woman who has been the focus of national print and broadcast media attention, including NBC Bay Area. A “blitz” of reporters were on hand Saturday to watch the 6-foot-8 Fremont resident play in Mission College’s 103-58 win on Saturday afternoon. Kim Tere reports.
