A riled letter in response to John King's public spacey rant really captures our sentiments on the decentralization of San Francisco's public personality. No mincing of words here. "When I suggested to my husband after Barack Obama's victory was announced last Tuesday that we hit the streets and celebrate with San Franciscans, he responded, 'And go where?'... San Francisco needs a space like Chicago's Grant Park or New York's Times Square to bring its citizens together for such monumental events as our recent election... Let's call it what is, folks. We failed as a city by letting this one slip by." [SF Gate]
