April Showers To Warming Ahead

Two weather systems will bring chances for some April showers on Sunday. The first and weaker of the pair will give us drizzle or light rain in spots until about lunchtime before skies trend to partly to mostly cloudy through the rest of the afternoon. After sundown another, slightly stronger system will provide a little added lift to the atmosphere and wring out periods of light to moderate showers from late Sunday evening into early Monday morning. As skies clear on Monday, northwesterly winds will be on the increase to 15-30 mph and higher gusts near the hills and coast. The wind speed increase will be due to low pressure which brought the overnight showers which will be moving east of the Sierra, and high pressure building in from the west moves up and over Northern California.Eventually we’ll see less wind and more warming as this high builds up and over the region. Highs by midweek will be easily into the 70s and possibly some low 80s before temps cool slightly to finish the work week with continued dry conditions.Enjoy your Sunday!– Rob Mayeda
