Breezy Saturday, Warming Ahead

A trough of low pressure passing by east of the Sierra will increase gusty northwesterly winds this afternoon and evening. Temperatures should be in the 60s and 70s with wind speeds in the 15-30 mph for most. A slight chance for a shower will be around during the afternoon and evening, mainly confined to the hills of the North Bay. Sierra travelers should keep in mind more widespread showers, thundershowers and some snow to near 6,500 will be possible for Saturday. Starting Sunday, high pressure begins building in that will help boost inland temps into the 80s and eventually lower 90s by Monday. Temps will soar into the mid 90s to near 100 for midweek with 80s to near 90 possible near the bay and coastline as well. Heat advisories and air quality issues will likely be around for the middle of the week along with an increased fire danger risk.Things should improve by Thursday with the return of a stronger sea breeze, cooling things off heading into next weekend.
