Breezy Thursday

We’ll manage one more mild day with temps in the 60s to some lower 70s by mid-afternoon as winds begin to increase late in the day ahead of a weather system that will bring some showers our way as early as Friday. This area of low pressure is dropping in from the Pacific Northwest, will be somewhat drier than systems we’ve seen so far this Winter, but also will be much colder. This will both serve to drop temps and snow levels at times (near 4,000′ or lower by Saturday) and set the stage for some convective showers early in the weekend that may include some isolated thunder and small hail at times.Showers should subside by Sunday with another ‘inside slider’ type weather system spinning down along the Sierra for Tuesday, possibly bringing more showers our way. The bigger impact with the second storm appears to be gusty north/northeast winds midway through next week.- Rob Mayeda
