Cold Storm For Christmas Eve

A cold storm dropping down out of the Gulf of Alaska will bring rain and wind to start, changing to scattered showers and isolated thundershowers into the afternoon. Small hail or ice pellets will be possible with some of the heavier convective showers. Snow levels will drop during the day to near 3,500′ by the afternoon and to near 2,500-3,000′ overnight, although as the colder air arrives, moisture will begin to decrease. A coating of snow however will be possible across the higher peaks around the Bay Area into Friday morning.
