Cool, Breezy Sunday With Showers

A compact, fast moving storm will increase rain chances early the day but the bigger impact for the Bay Area will be cool, breezy conditions into the afternoon with chilly nights and days ahead. The focus of Sunday’s storm has shifted a little further south from previous forecasts, so areas south of Monterey into SoCal should see the heaviest rain and chance for thunderstorms. Snow will fall as low as 3,000-4,000 ft. in the Sierra where a Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect though 4am Monday. Head’s up for SoCal travel, snow is likely along the Grapevine/I-5 Gorman corridor later on Sunday into Monday morning with a Winter Storm Warning in effect. We should see showers decreasing around the Bay Area by the afternoon with another chance for showers returning perhaps on Tuesday and Thursday but mainly impacting areas north of San Francisco. The forecast for Super Bowl Weekend has shifted much drier, with temps in the 60s now expected with variable clouds at times next weekend.
